An innovative small charity going through rapid development is looking for an experienced finance manager with the skills and passion to help take the charity to the next level.

Alexandra Rose Charity is over 100 years old but in 2014 it adopted a new mission - to give families access to fresh fruit and vegetables in their communities. From two small pilots supporting 45 families in London the charity has grown to support over a 1000 families across London, South Yorkshire & Liverpool with plans to expand further across the UK.

Through the Rose Vouchers for Fruit & Veg project the charity supports families on low incomes to access fresh fruit & veg from local markets. The scheme, initially self funded, now has income from over 20 different trusts, foundations, local authorities and corporates. The charity is looking for an experienced Finance and Grants Manager who can support the management of this complex income stream and to lead on reporting to funders on how their money is being spent. The role will also include supporting the Chief Executive in modelling business growth and developing finances to go into future funding bids.

Job Summary

Support the growth of the charity, working closely with the Chief Executive, board & sub-committees, external accountants, consultants and the core staff team: Business Administrator, Programme Development Manager, Communications & Project Manager, and Network Manager.


A skilled finance manager used to working in the charitable sector or with transferable skills.  Sound understanding of small business finance including budgets, management accounts and experience of Xero or other relevant accounting software tools. Experience of working with charities to develop policy and strategy. Experience of managing complex income streams and liaising with and reporting to grant funders.
