Let me start by saying a big thank you for supporting the families we work with through your engagement with Alexandra Rose Charity. Our Big Give Christmas Campaign totaliser currently stands at an impressive £11,668, but we still have £58,332 to raise with 5 days left.
Over the past months, we’ve witnessed first-hand the cost of living crisis taking hold and exacerbating rising levels of food poverty. The Food Foundation has reported that 9.7 million families have experienced food insecurity in the past month, with 6% of adults not eating for a whole day to ensure their children can eat.
An inadequate diet is limiting the life chances of children on low incomes. We know that our Rose Vouchers for Fruit & Veg Project makes a healthy diet easier to access for struggling families but to keep meeting the ever-increasing demand, I need your help.
Honestly, in the 8 years I have been running Alexandra Rose Charity, I have never known things to be so bad for families, and it’s worsening daily. Every week we hear from families struggling to provide the basics, but they also tell us that Rose Vouchers are making a huge difference to them.
Our charity has already responded to this crisis by increasing the number of Rose Vouchers a family will receive each week, so they buy the fruit and veg they need despite the rapidly rising prices. However, we need to raise more funds than ever to continue this into 2023 and beyond. Please help us be part of the solution to this cost of living crisis.
