We are delighted to announce the appointment of Corin Bell as the new Chief Executive Officer at Alexandra Rose Charity. Corin joins us from Open Kitchen, the Greater Manchester-based social enterprise she founded and currently leads as Executive Director. Open Kitchen works to reduce food waste and create a fairer, healthier, and more sustainable food system. Corin also serves as Chair of the Greater Manchester Food Partnership, helping to shape regional food strategy across health, sustainability, social inclusion and community wealth building.
With expertise in ethical food supply chains, sustainable catering and systems-led approaches to food insecurity, Corin brings a bold and values-led vision to Alexandra Rose Charity at a critical moment for food and health in the UK.
Corin said:
“I’m thrilled to be joining the Alexandra Rose Charity team as CEO. Their work combining practical support to communities with advocacy for food systems change aligns deeply with the values on which Open Kitchen was built. At a time of both crisis and momentum in food, health and sustainability, I can’t think of a better place to help drive real change.”
The appointment comes at a pivotal time, following the UK Government’s launch of a new 10-year health plan and the development of a National Food Strategy. This is an exciting and ambitious period for Alexandra Rose Charity, as we believe our innovative, community-rooted model must play a central role in shaping a healthier food system for all. Later this year, we will launch a new five-year strategy, further strengthening our commitment to supporting families on low incomes and influencing positive change at both local and national levels.
Alexandra Rose Charity’s Chair of Trustees, Celia Cole, said:
“We are delighted to welcome Corin Bell as the new Chief Executive of Alexandra Rose Charity. Corin brings a wealth of experience, deep commitment to social justice, and an innovative mindset when it comes to tackling food insecurity. Her leadership will be instrumental as we continue to expand our mission of supporting families and individuals on low incomes to access fresh, healthy food. We look forward to this exciting new chapter under Corin’s guidance.“
With Corin’s leadership, Alexandra Rose Charity will continue to champion access to good food as a right, not a privilege, and to push for scalable, sustainable solutions that work for people and the local food economy. We look forward to welcoming her later this year.
