Stef Lake

With a decade of experience in the food justice and community development sectors, Stef’s work has supported organisations in developing long-term, strategic solutions that reduce dependency on charitable food aid and promote access to healthy, affordable food for all.

As co-founder of the Alliance for Dignified Food Support, Stef has collaborated with food partnerships and community groups across the UK to develop practical, evidence-based recommendations for delivering food support with dignity. The Alliance campaigns nationally for systemic change to move the UK beyond food banks.

Stef specialises in strategic communications that centre storytelling and values-led brand development, with a strong commitment to working through a trauma-informed lens. They collaborate closely with people with lived experience of food insecurity to ensure that messaging is authentic, inclusive, and empowering.

Outside of work, Stef loves getting outdoors and enjoys walking, trail running, and has recently taken up sea kayaking. They also play for a local football team and sing with a musical theatre choir in their hometown of Brighton.
