Stephanie Slater

After 20 years working in film production Stephanie decided to take a break to enjoy time with her two children. In 2007 she set up School Food Matters, a charity campaigning for fresh sustainable food in schools and promoting food education through cooking, growing and visits to farms.

In 2012 she was invited to join the School Food Plan’s expert panel, tasked by the Department for Education to create an action plan to help head teachers improve school food. She now chairs the School Food Plan Alliance.  Stephanie is a trustee of Sustain; the alliance for better food and farming, and a governor at Grey Court School.
