We’re finalists in the BBC Food and Farming Awards!

We’re thrilled to share that Alexandra Rose Charity has reached the final three in the shortlist for this year’s BBC Food & Farming Awards in the Food Innovation category!

This is a huge accolade for our work in delivering our Rose Vouchers for Fruit & Veg Project around the UK and our innovative Fruit & Veg on Prescription Project, which launched in the London Boroughs of Lambeth and Tower Hamlets last year, with funding from the public health teams at Tower Hamlets Council and Lambeth Council and Impact on Urban Health. Both projects help people afford fresh fruit and veg for themselves and their families, helping to support a healthy diet and improve diet-related ill health.

We were delighted earlier this week to welcome Dan Saladino from BBC Radio 4 to our project in Southwark to hear about the difference Rose Vouchers are making in this community. If you’d like to tune in, the feature will go out on The Food Programme, BBC Radio 4 on Sunday 10th September at 12:30.

“We’re honoured to have reached the final at the BBC Food & Farming Awards, recognising our charity’s innovative approach in giving families the means to afford fruit and veg and realise our vision where everyone has access to healthy and affordable food. For families receiving Rose Vouchers, we have been a constant source of support against increasing food prices. We are hugely proud that we can continue to support thousands of families to afford the fresh fruit and veg of their choice every week.”
